Take-a-Break Tales

One of the nation’s greatest guilty pleasures is finally getting a theatrical outing, as the ‘true-life stories’ featured in some of the UK’s best-selling magazines like Chat and Take A Break are brought to the stage by award-winning Danielle Ward and an acclaimed cast directed by Hannah Mackay.

The format for the show has been developed at Robin Ince’s cult comedy night The Book Club, where audiences have found the charms of tales such as ‘I bit my friend’s face off’ and ‘My ex-lover tried to kill me’ simply irresistible.

"Fantastic, brave and very funny… Danielle Ward's cynical and absurd sense of humour marks her out as a potential star." TimeOut

"Highlight of the book club, this hilarious journey through the world of the lonely, heartbroken and amoral comes from Danielle Ward, winner of the TimeOut Live Award 2006 for Best Comedy Newcomer"
